Storyline:

Remake about the murderous doll Chucky, equipped with modernster technology that enables the neighborhood in fear and terror. Andy Barclay (Gabriel Bateman) is a 13-year-old boy, who is struggling after changing schools so, connection and above all to find new friends. For his birthday, his single mother Karen (Aubrey Plaza) gives him a popular toy doll, the so-called “Buddi Doll” of the technology group Kaslan. The doll, which is equipped with the latest gadgets and can also be operated via Smarthphone and tablet, quickly developed a sinister life of its own and turns out to be anything but a new best friend. When Andy tries to make his mother and other adults aware of the dangerous doll, no one believes him. Meanwhile, Detective Mike Norris (Brian Tyree Henry) tries to solve a series of mysterious murder cases in the vicinity. Can a doll really be behind all these atrocities?

The murderous doll Chucky is back! In the remake of the original horror cult movie from 1988, the doll goes back to fatal rambles through the neighborhood. Unlike the original, however, Chucky this time is not the reincarnation of a serial killer but has a malevolent artificial intelligence that enables him also possible to contact other equipment of his production company Kaslan connect and control them. After the continuation of the series or a potential remake of “Chucky” films has been discussed time and again in recent years, “Child’s Play” now comes with a completely new cast and even without co-creator Don Mancini therefore. Nevertheless, the remake is in good hands: the film was produced by the creators of the Stephen King adaptation “ES” Seth Graham-Smith and David Katzenberg, directed by Lars Klevberg that in early 2019 with the horror film “Polaroid” on its own.
